On Monday, August 31, Governor João Dória announced the opening of 20,000 vacancies for women in free IT (Information Technology) courses.
What are the free IT courses with open positions
The initiative offers four options of free introductory IT courses: Programming Logic, Database, Web Developer and Mobile Developer. Each course lasts 80 hours and can be taken in up to three months. Classes will be online so that participants do not have to leave home.
If you are a woman, you are over 16 years old, literate and live in one of the 645 municipalities in the state of São Paulo, take the opportunity to enter this market, which remains heated, even in this pandemic moment.
The objective of the Economic Development Secretariat’s initiative, in fact, is to create opportunities for more women to have training in the IT area. According to data from the Secretariat, among the 30 thousand enrolled since last year in SP Tech technology courses, only 10 thousand are female.
Registration is now open and must be completed by September 4 by www.cursosviarapida.sp.gov.br. If the number of applicants is greater than the number of vacancies, unemployed, low-income and disabled people will be preferred.
Selected candidates will receive an email. Classes are due to start on September 14th. To receive the certificate, you must attend all classes in the course and have an average grade of 7.5 in the assessments.
How free IT courses are offered
The courses are offered on the platform of the Virtual University of the State of São Paulo (Univesp). All of them offer an entrepreneurship module in partnership with Sebrae, which allows women to have access to credit under special conditions at Banco do Povo.
Those who finish the introductory modules can take more advanced subjects, such as Data Science, Web Development / Front-End, Web Development / Back-End and Web Development / Full-Stack. These courses will be offered voluntarily by the companies Alura and Digital Innovation One.
More free courses in partnership with Senac
In addition to SP Tech’s 20,000 vacancies, the Economic Development Secretariat entered into a partnership with Senac to offer another 500 vacancies in advanced courses, also preferably for women.
