As part of a multi-disciplinary team within the context of an inpatient ward / dept., you will have responsibility for the assessment of patient care needs and the development and evaluation of programmes of care. You will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals and in line with agreed standards and clinical policies. You will regularly take charge of the ward and the supervision and teaching of junior staff; both qualified and unqualified will be an important aspect of the role as will be the mentoring of nurses undergoing basic or post-basic training. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Mental Health Nurse with the NMC. The shift pattern for this post is 12 hour rotational shifts. As holding current full professional registration is an essential requirement for the post, candidates who do not complete the professional registration section of the application form or who do not hold current full registration may not be considered for shortlisting.
