Technical Business Analyst: Business Technology within Central Services Job purpose Responsible for gathering, documenting and interpreting business needs into succinct and concise functional and non-functional requirements. Provide business analysis input from benefits case through to design and transition. This will be achieved by capturing and prioritising requirements and leading analysis on solution design, validation, testing and go-live readiness support. Responsible for documenting test scenarios, scripts and user outcomes Key role in communicating between within Business Technology, acting as a translator where necessary Ability to document and understand high-level conceptual and contextual design and specifications Planning and managing small scale change where needed Work with operational stakeholders and technical teams to discuss approaches to technology led solutions, this will be achieved by acting as a driver in cross collaboration within the organisation and having the confidence and gravitas to propose and challenge solutions offered. Convey technical ideas, concepts and procedures and manipulate text and images to create well-structured documentation that can be easily absorbed by a non-technical audience. Dimensions Services all of the system solutions used within the Business Technology department encompassing all of the UK business units To work within a team responsible for the design, implementation and operation of all IT systems and services within the organisation. Ability to ask insightful questions to retrieve information from key stakeholders Strong presentation and articulation skills Documentation and writing skills; in particular experience of writing clear and concise requirements, building plans and conducting analysis Analytical problem solving skills Strategic thinker Excellent business engagement skills Experience At least 5 years Business Analyst experience within a Technology/IT environment, with experience of working with technical teams (essential) with data and business analysis modelling techniques (essential). Experienced with eliciting, analysing, prioritising and documenting business requirements and tracking them through the delivery lifecycle. Writing user case diagrams and notations, mapping data flows and other data modelling experience (essential). Experience of working with Commercial of the Shelf (COTS) and enterprise wide solutions (essential). Experience of requirements gathering through direct interaction with end users in a workshop environment and ability to prioritise e.g. MOSCOW Good communication and business relationship skills, able to deal with internal and external stakeholders with the sufficient energy, drive and self-motivation to be successful. Essential experience of working with senior business users with a logical, structured thought process and good problem solving skills. Strong understanding of project lifecycles Able to demonstrate initiative and work with minimum supervision.
