Job Description:

Alpha has an ambitious goal of doubling the number of churches running the
program over the next five to seven years and establishing a network of 500 hub
churches around the world who are beacons of excellence in running Alpha.
The Marketing and Development Writer will develop and curate stories to be used
on multiple platforms and a variety of media. This includes messaging and content
for marketing email newsletters, donor communications, blog, social media, web,
and other digital channels.

The position will likely be based in Naperville, IL with some flexibility over specific location.

Responsibilities

• Curate and develop compelling stories for cohesive digital communication
campaigns across platforms including blog, social media, website copy, email
communications, and more.
• Work with Network and Context teams to identify stories, develop the written
piece, and post on appropriate channels.
• Coordinate story curation and development according to the editorial calendar
– for both marketing and donor development.
• Write donor proposals and subsequent donor reports.
• With marketing director, create and implement an organization-wide style
guide.
• Play an active role in the marketing and development teams to help plan and
create key marketing and communication initiatives.
• This position is part time.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants should possess the following skills:
• Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data
and intuition to inform decisions.
• Strong copywriting and content creation skills for a variety of media.
• Experience with social media platforms.
• Working knowledge of email marketing best practices.
• Ability to multi-task and monitor several projects and accounts on a daily
basis.
• Ability to work independently or in a team
