ABOUT THIS POSITION
KBR is seeking a well-rounded, personable, entry/junior level, Construction/Project Manager. This person must be eager to grow and learn as part of a team providing construction and project management services for a Noise Mitigation Program at the Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport in Westfield, Massachusetts. This program provides consulting and construction management services for the City of Westfield to reduce noise levels for homes surrounding the airport.This individual will be responsible for project management related tasks of assisting in day to day tasks of: scheduling, planning, budgeting, preparing bids, documentation, report writing, filing, and interpreting engineering reports/construction designs. Further, this position requires constant interaction with KBR’s Project Team, the City and Airport Officials, homeowners, and contractors.This role will also involve occasional: contract administration, field supervision, and coordination of related project activities to ensure safety, scope of work, schedule, and budget are in line with the contractQualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:COMMUNICATION:
- Must be able to communicate effectively with KBR team members, government, and contractor personnel in a dynamic environment. Strong interpersonal skills are required to effectively interact with: customers, engineering professionals, and homeowners in order to ensure contract requirements are met.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT/CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
- Must be self-motivated, organized, and disciplined.
- Candidate must have track record of leadership and management experience with the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to understand or learn how a project flows.
- Ability to create and maintain a schedule.
- Ability to create and maintain a budget.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Computer/technical skills and digital documentation skills.
- Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft: WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT.
- Creation, editing, and filing of documents in PDF format.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s in: Construction Management, Engineering, or Business
- 5 Years related construction/project management experience or equivalent educational experience.
