In preparation for the Silicon Club meeting which will deal with the topic of “Disorder Management” (to be held this coming Monday, June 29, 2020) and in which he will participate as a lecturer, we are pleased to host Yigal Rotem, CEO of Cardorex and former founder and CEO of Chav. ‘PowerDsine. We asked Miguel to share with us the way his company dealt with the corona crisis in the administrative aspect and what he thinks the Israeli government should do for the industry. In an exclusive interview with Chiportal, Yigal says: “The State of Israel must simply and directly support small and medium-sized businesses, which are at the heart of the economy, as well as support the self-employed equally for non-discriminatory employees.” Here is the full interview with Yigal Rotem:

1. How is your company coping with the corona crisis? (Did you fire employees, reduce activity, etc.)
Cardorex grew by 40% in the first half of 2020 compared to 2019 and the company is in the process of recruiting employees in all development and sales departments. We grew up mainly due to the fact that we serve e-commerce companies and most of them experienced an increase in the volume of activity because people sat at home and ordered products and services online. In addition, Cardorex was built in advance to work from home, so the level of service and availability of our systems was not affected at all when the entire company works from home.

2. What managerial tip for dealing with the crisis can you give to other high-tech executives?
For crises such as the current crisis, it is important to respond quickly, not to wait “until the rage passes” and also to take advantage of the crisis to improve market positioning, company structure, processes, etc. לא .. Do not let the crisis be missed….

3. Do you follow the corona’s habits or make an emergency plan?
We will return to work in one hybrid model or another, part of the week in the office and part at home

4. What changes are you anticipating in the business world following the Corona crisis?
The volume of travel has decreased at least over the next 24 months. Companies will work in a more hybrid model, the transition to online will be greatly accelerated, quite a few high-tech companies will not survive, even if they currently have money, it will be very difficult to raise new money

5. General conclusions and insights from the Corona crisis and what do you think the Israeli government should do for the industry?
The State of Israel must support small and medium-sized businesses, which are the heart of the economy, in a simple and direct manner, as well as support the self-employed equally for employees without discrimination. Transfer most government ministries to remote (intentional) work, order banks and insurance companies to immediately switch to a service that does not require physical stabilization of customers in the branches, and in addition set a personal example, and cut the salaries of MKs and ministers!
