Job Advert Head of Centre Kinnaird Early Learning and Childcare Centre An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Centre to provide strategic leadership and management of the new Kinnaird ELC Centre. Following major construction the new Centre will open in August 2019. Initially Kinnaird ELC Centre will provide sessional, term time placements however in August 2020 this will change to provide additional flexible early learning and childcare options for parents. In August 2020, Kinnaird ELC Centre will begin to deliver the new expanded 1140 hours for all eligible children. The Centre will operate an extended day, extended year provision, as well as meeting the demands for term time only sessions. We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified, appropriately experienced and highly skilled ELC practitioner as Head of Centre of Kinnaird ELC Centre. It is planned that the successful candidate will be in post prior to the opening of the Centre to co-ordinate the move from the current Kinnaird Primary School Nursery Class as well as have the opportunity to recruit the new staff team. As Head of Centre you will be required to oversee the delivery of the highest quality early learning and childcare provision to secure the best possible outcomes for the children who attend. The Head of Centre is accountable for the day to day operation of the Centre, ensuring that standards are met by all staff, and that service user needs are met appropriately. You will also be expected to facilitate excellent cross-sector working with the Headteacher of the local primary school, promoting community links and transitions. Working in partnership with parents and educational establishments across Falkirk Council, the Head of Centre will set-out an ambitious vision and demonstrate energy and drive in all aspects practice. A strong commitment to taking forward and implementing both corporate and regulatory initiatives is crucial to the role. You will be required to hold BA in Childhood Practice, or other relevant child care qualification equivalent to SCQF level 9. You should have significant and relevant post qualification experience. Successful applicants for posts working with children or vulnerable adults will be subject to disclosure checks or the new PVG scheme.
