Pupil Support Assistants – Pirniehall Primary fixed term until 26/06/2020

Job Description Communities and Families Pupil Support Assistants (x 2) – fixed term until 26 June 2020. Pirniehall Primary School Salary: 16,287 – 18,316 (pro rata for part time and sessional)  Hours: 27.17 per week, 39 weeks per year Hours worked will be Monday – Thursday 0830 -1505 & Friday 0830 -1140  The successful candidates will work 0830-1140 in our nursery class and then after lunch 1215-1505 with pupils in our main school Pupil Support Assistants working with under 5’s are required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of starting employment and are expected to achieve a qualification which meets registration standards within 5 years. The City of Edinburgh Council applies a Living Wage allowance to ensure that all employees earn at least 9.07 per hour. Successful applicants will be paid the hourly rate for the role, plus the allowance, in order to bring their earnings to 9.07 per hour. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
