Medical Secretary – Orthopaedics

You will provide secretarial and administrative support to Consultant Surgeons. You will act as a focal point for the provision of help and advice to staff members, patients and professionals in relation to service enquiries and to co-ordinate the patient’s pathway. The post of medical secretary requires the following to provide an efficient and effective service: To have at least SVQ III in Secretarial/Business Administration or equivalent work based experience: Proficient use of software programmes/IT skills: Understanding of medical terminology: Excellent keyboard skills: Highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills: Ability to work flexibly and use own initiative: Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of professionals, patients and relatives: Ability to organise, prioritise and work to deadlines: Ability to cope in stressful situations and work in a pressurised environment and awareness of Divisional Policies and Statutory Acts.
