Job Description Communities and Families Pupil Support Assistant x 2 Posts Fixed Term Contracts (to June 2019) St John Vianney RC Primary School Salary: £15,285 – £17,191 (Pro-rata for part time, sessional 39 weeks) plus living wage allowance if applicable Hours: 28 or 22 per week St John Vianney is a growing school, serving a broad community both in terms of its geography, socio-economic and cultural background in Edinburgh’s south. Made up of over 30 nationalities, our pupils, parents/carers and staff speak over 20 languages, something, which we actively celebrate. We are a Learning Community where stakeholders play a significant role in deciding the direction of the school, and in the development of colleagues, by learning from each other. We have 10 classes and a 30/30 Nursery. Work will soon begin on our new Early Years’ Centre building, catering to 135 children including an eligible 2 year olds. We are seeking 2 enthusiastic and skilled Pupil Support Assistant’s to join our dedicated and caring team. Your responsibilities will include: One to one support with designated pupils. Collective support with other school pupils as directed by the School Leadership Team. Providing assistance in the running of our busy Breakfast Club. Please see the attached job profile for more information. The City of Edinburgh Council applies a Living Wage allowance to ensure that all employees earn at least £8.51 per hour. Successful applicants will be paid the hourly rate as advertised, plus the allowance, in order to bring their earnings to £8.51 per hour. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
