Job Description What is the role? An opportunity exists for an experienced, motivated and qualified social worker to join our Family Placement and Adoption Team. If you have a strong commitment to delivering quality services and promoting the best possible outcomes for children and young people then we would like to hear from you. You should have a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience within a statutory Children and Families setting and evidence your ability and understanding, in practice, of child development, trauma, abuse and recovery. Additionally, you should be able to demonstrate your knowledge of the role, responsibilities and needs of a range of carers within a Family Placement setting. The successful applicant will work as part of the Family Placement and Adoption Team with a focus on recruitment, assessment, and support to foster carers, adopters and kinship carers. You will work in partnership with a range of carers and associated services in meeting the needs of Looked After and Accommodated children and young people. As part of this role, you will undertake comprehensive Form F assessments of potential Foster Carers and Adopters in line with Council Policy and Procedure. You will participate in the recruitment and training of potential carers. You will also ensure that all carers are supported, supervised and trained to a level required to undertake their roles and responsibilities. You should have an understanding of key legislation and standards and apply this in line with our duties and responsibilities under the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, Adoption and Children (Scotland) Act 2007 and the Looked After Children (Scotland) Regulations 2009. Extra information: The Grade of this post is Grade 3 / Level 10, the hourly rate is from £18.49 to £19.64 and the annual salary is from £33,744 to £35,843.
