Sheltered Housing Warden

Job Description You will be based in the Sheltered Housing Warden Service and will be required to work from different locations across the city, working part time, 16 or 21 hours per week, including weekends. Requirements You will either hold a qualification meeting the Scottish Social Services Council registration requirements for Housing Support Workers, or have the ability to obtain such a qualification within a specified timescale. Responsibilities You will assist tenants in sheltered housing schemes to enjoy a secure and comfortable environment, and live as independently as possible in their own home. The Individual You will have experience in a similar field. You must be dependable and reliable, and able to demonstrate sensitivity and understanding in dealing with elderly/vulnerable people. You should also have a flexible approach to work and possess good communication skills, both written and verbal. You must be able to work as part of a team, on your own initiative, and with minimal supervision. You will be required to participate in a rota covering seven days a week with some evening working. You will be required to be flexible with your working hours. The sheltered service operates 365 days a year and you may be asked to provide cover for the service on any of the days of the working week. This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
