Senior Systems Engineer – New Product Design

Foobar Recruitment are working with a well funded high tech startup who are breaking new ground in electronic technology. Following a very successful 2018, growth continues in to 2019. As part of that, we are recruiting for a Senior Systems Engineer to work from requirement capture stage, through design, to debugging of the final product. This hands on systems design engineering role will see you making pivotal contributions to the development of brand new greenfield product and never before seen technology developments. You will take a broad focus, both designing and integrating across all the engineering disciplines. As the final products are electronic, you will need a very good understanding of systems level electronics with experience writing code, as well as some understanding of mechanical engineering and fundamental engineering principles. Whilst working in a very skilled and supportive team, you will be given responsibility for ensuring the timely and successful completion of each project. Hence a commercial aptitude and good communication skills would be highly beneficial in allowing you to write specifications, set expectations for subcontractors, and effectively manage both internal and external lead times for the successful completion of the full projects. Requirements for application: Electronics Engineering – (discrete electronics, analogue, digital or mixed signal) Experienced in writing basic code for electronic integration, or data transfer Basic mechanical engineering – including 3D CAD experience (basic CAD experience is fine) PCB CAD software An understanding of heat transfer EMC/EMI Beneficial experience: Experienced in a research environment Masters or PhD in electronic engineering, physics or a related discipline Foobar Recruitment operate referral schemes, so if you know anyone suitable, please get in touch.
