We are looking to recruit 1 F/T Band 7 physiotherapists to support flow of MSK patients within Emergency Department, within the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. This is an exciting development opportunity, to contribute to the improvement of the 4 hour Emergency Access Target for Unscheduled Care, within the emergency departments. The view of the current ED services within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has identified the benefits an MSK Physiotherapist would bring to the ED MDT. As a result we are seeking an experienced MSK physiotherapist with an understanding of flow demands of unscheduled care, with an appetite for improvement, and highly skilled team player. Your role would be to independently assess patients presenting in ED, make a provisional diagnosis, and advise on management and treatment, where appropriate referral on to other services for management. There would be a requirement to work in the out of hour’s period. You will be linked to one ED Consultant for support and as part of your role you would be expected to educate other ED staff on the assessment and management of patients with MSK conditions. Demonstrating improvement in care and flow of MSK patients through the ED would also be expected and you would link closely with Improvement Advisors for support in this area.
