You will provide a comprehensive medical secretarial and administration service to consultants and associated clinical teams and organise consultant workloads and provide main point of contact between clinical staff and service users. The role is extremely specialised in content and diverse in range. It involves a significant amount of responsibility combined with a high degree of accuracy and competency. An excellent understanding of policies and procedures is necessary and you need excellent communications skills to ensure that information required is passed on accurately and timeously. You will be responsible for prioritising and scheduling your own workload to ensure compliance with local, Greater Glasgow & Clyde Health Board and Scottish Executive targets/guarantees. You must also ensure that you undertake all mandatory training and in conjunction with your Line Manager, develop your training as required by your own objectives and those of the service. It is essential you have a HNC in Secretarial/Business Administration or equivalent work based experience and also be proficient in the use of software programmes/IT skills. Knowledge of advanced medical terminology would be beneficial. The hours of this post are worked Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.
