Prepare plans and schematics for simple and complex highway projects throughout Texas utilizing TxDOT and AASHTO design standards for cities, counties, and state agencies
KCI is seeking a Roadway Design EIT with 0 to 4 years of experience in transportation design to join our team in the Austin office. This individual will support the design of roadway and bridge projects working under the direction of a Senior Engineer.
Responsible for supporting roadway design development of transportation projects including coordination with multiple design disciplines. Duties include the preparation of plans, technical specifications, quantity takeoffs and construction estimates in accordance with TxDOT design manuals and standard drawings. Experience with MicroStation and GeoPAK design software is preferred. Ability to take direction from others and work in a team environment is a must. Familiarity with AASHTO Greenbook, Roadside Design Guide, MUTCD, TxDOT Roadway Design Manual and Standard Drawings is a plus. Candidate must have good written and communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
Engineer in Training Certification required.
Must be a self-motivated dynamic individual. Pre-employment drug testing is required as a condition of employment.
