Job Description Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art (more commonly known as GI) is a biennial city-wide, multi-venue Festival that takes place over 18 days in April/May in every even year. Established in 2005, the festival has witnessed impressive growth over the last few editions in particular. For the 2018 festival 90 projects were staged through the city across in 78 venues attracting 244,320 visits, with 97% rating their festival experience as good or very good. The Festival Coordinator works closely with both the Festival Manager and Director to ensure that the operations and administration of the festival runs smoothly. This pivotal role is critical to managing the open programme of the festival, and the successful candidate will need to have exceptional administrative and communications skills, dealing with enquiries from people organising projects within the open programme, as well as general enquires that come in. It is important that they will have a working knowledge of contemporary art and the arts sector. Nearer to the festival time, the Festival Coordinator will arrange the festival hub, and work closely with the Festival Manager to ensure that key tasks are done on a day-to-day basis.
