Community Nursing Team Leader – Community Nursing

This post supports the Service Manager in the management and professional leadership of all nursing team members to deliver a high quality service in compliance with statutory responsibilities, professional guidelines and the policies and procedures of the organisation. This post provides day to day professional and managerial input to the community nursing team within their area of responsibility. You will be responsible for the delivery of the highest standards of patient centred care to patients and their relatives through the development and management of staff within their remit. You will function as an independent autonomous practitioner by virtue of in-depth knowledge, expertise, proficiency and experience and will lead and enable the team to provide a high quality service. Glasgow City HSCP has a diverse population of approximately 590,000 people and employs around 3000 WTE staff and has approximately 561 independent contractors. The Services delivered by OPPC include, Community Nursing (DN & Treatment Room, Specialist Nursing Services), Social Work, Rehabilitation & Enablement, Respiratory and Older Peoples Mental Health. You will have responsibility for day to day professional leadership and operational management including performance monitoring and review of the nursing team. This role will encompass District Nurses, Community Staff Nurses, Health Care Support Workers, Care Home Liaison Nurses and Enteral Feeding Nurses. You will support the Service Manager with managing the effective deployment of the nursing resource within the team and supporting functions such as recruitment, sickness absence management, handling of complaints, grievance and disciplinary issues. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and that you have an SPQ or equivalent level of competence with relevant community experience. You should have post graduate qualification or specialist knowledge gained through relevant community experience that can be demonstrated. It would be desirable if you have a current driving licence. The shift pattern for this post is flexible to meet the needs of the service which will include out of hours working in a flexible manner but will be expected to attend meetings and engagements during core hours.
