Business Support Assistant – Immunisation

This is an exciting opportunity for an appropriately qualified Business Support Assistant to provide secretarial / administrative support to managers and associated teams within the newly created pre-school/childhood/ flu immunisation programme within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. This Service will deliver an accessible, appropriate, culturally sensitive, safe, person centered and effective immunisation service for children, young people and families in the community. The fixed term post will include a varied and interesting range of administration duties as outlined in the job description to support the Service and delegated by the Team Lead/ Immunisation coordinators. Applicants must have good communication skills and be able to demonstrate competence in the use of a range of computer packages evidenced by experience or formal qualifications e.g. ECDL and must show knowledge of working in an office environment and of operation of office equipment and systems. You will work within clearly defined protocols and procedures, adhering to Divisional policies e.g. Health and Safety, Data Protection and Confidentiality. There will be an on-going requirement to have a personal development plan agreed with the manager which will include participation in training and development.You should be willing to participate in short courses or more formal training opportunities to improve skill level e.g. through achievement of SVQ in Administration at Level 2 or 3. The role may occasionally involve travel to and from immunisation delivery sites. Daily workload will be varied, interesting and challenging with a range of clinical, leadership, management, health improvement, administration and IT activities.
