Location: Marischal College Duration: Permanent Full Time Job Purpose: The post holder will take lead operational responsibility for the co-ordination of Adult Support and Protection in Aberdeen City Council. Requirements The post holder needs to hold as a minimum: A professional qualification in a related discipline: nursing, social work or occupational therapist or equivalent Protection of Vulnerable Groups Registered (PVG) Responsibilities The post holder is expected to demonstrate: The ability to assess and manage risk Ability to manage constant and often conflicting demands including challenging practice and decision making The ability to prepare complex reports The ability to convene and chair Adult Support and Protection operational meetings – including complex Case Conferences An ability to provide advice and support as appropriate to operational staff in respect of Adult Protection practice An ability to promote good interagency and inter-disciplinary practice, with the aim of preventing and responding to the causes and effects of harm of adults at risk in Aberdeen City An ability to lead in the identification of and response to inter-agency training needs An ability to engage and participate in strategic areas of work related to Adult protection at both a local and national level An ability to support the Adult Protection Committee as it monitors and reviews information about Adult Protection activity including provision of statistical information and supporting audit work as required The ability to promote Aberdeen City Adult Protection Committee’s role in consulting service users and carers and in involving members of the public, to ensure that interagency Adult Protection services in Aberdeen City are continuously improved The Individual Please see the Job Profile for further details.
