Advert CHIEF EXECUTIVE’S SERVICE Democratic Services Administrative Officer 35 hours per week Temporary maternity cover up to 25 August 2019 £19,777 to £21,401 (including Distant Islands Allowance) Democratic Services provide administrative support to the Convener, Leader and Members of Orkney Islands in addition, to the Lord Lieutenant and Community Councils within Orkney. As an integral member of the team you will provide high quality efficient and effective administrative and financial support to enable them to carry out their respective roles. Regular liaison with external agencies, community groups and a wide range of stakeholders is a key element to the role. This is an exciting role which also involves co-ordination of a wide range of events on behalf of the Convener and Lord Lieutenant and you will assist and administer arrangements for seminars, conferences and various civic and ceremonial events. Working in a busy, dynamic environment you must be resourceful and demonstrate excellent administrative and communication skills. You will need to be self-motivated, organised and able to plan and deliver work to a high standard of accuracy whilst meeting tight deadlines. You should hold an HND or equivalent or equivalent level qualification in marketing or business administration.
