Before beginning I gonna tell you something that below practices is built after researching of every tip, techniques is really matter in web ranking or not because i didn’t want time waste for false tips for ex. In 2009, google officially announced that the keywords meta tag not matters in web ranking, but you can see today there are millions of new sites use the keywords meta tag so please don’t go with this type of false practices.

1) Title Tag | On-Page SEO

1.1) Start the title with Keywords

First do a keyword research for your title using tools like keywords planner or find some keywords from an instant drop suggestion on google search. After getting keywords on your hand use them on the beginning of your title tag. For Ex. “<title>SEO Tutorial – The Complete Guide – Vintaytime</title>”, “SEO Tutorial” is a keyword i got and drop them at starting.

1.2) Date/Month/Year in Title

Numerical digits are a good idea for a unique title tag, but not always, work like a charm that’s why you can use current year in the title so the google think that your page contain the latest content which really useful for users. If you publish content as per daily routine in a same page so Yes!, you can use today’s date or the current month in the title. Make sure your sitemap update frequency is according to title update frequency because search engine not update your page daily until you don’t tell him through the sitemap.

1.3) Separate commas

Title with Separate commas is officially a suggestion of Google in a search engine optimization PDF. This type of title is mostly use in the directory pages like in a category page or in a homepage.

Short permalink is the one of the best technique of SEO of the modern web. Between billions of URLs google handle ranking very toughly that’s why on today’s web shorten permalink is the way you can use as a white-hat SEO technique and boost your ranking.

2.2) Only use keywords in URL

Short permalink means, you use lesser no. Of words in url. So my suggestion is only to use Keywords not other words like (that, what,we,and,is etc.). Using only target keywords in url really boosts web ranking and not in google your page also rank in other search engines.

2.4) Permalink Checklist

  • Shorten permalink

3.1) Medium length description meta tag

When your meta description tag goes short you see webmaster tools show pages which contain a short description and if it goes long so its not cover search result snippet. Using medium length description tag looks perfect, but not boost your ranking, you can take this as optional.

3.2) Implement open graph meta tags

If you are running WordPress and using any WordPress SEO plugin, then first check header source code of any post using (CTRL+U) in your browser, if open graph tags found, then leave this step if not so take it from Moz Blog, Social Meta Tags.

3.3) Make use of Schema.org

To customize your search result snippet preview, Schema.org is most, but is this really helping my ranking or not? My answer is based on some conditions, you have to check my Schema.org SEO article to understand in-depth.

No follow tell the search engine to not to follow this specific link or with the help of robots no follow meta tag you can tell not to follow any link in this page. According to me you didn’t want to add no follow to all links first checks is external resource is valuable or not. For better answers check rel=nofollow usage from google support.

4.2) Internal linking are really important

Internal link to an internal page gives a signal to search engine that page is also relatively important. For ex. → WordPress SEO ← (that’s my article and i link in this page). Also care about anchor texts you use in a link.

A well defined topic is always lives good for users and well defined page are always lengthy that’s why Wikipedia rank first on Google. This is not a trick, hard-work always results success that’s why i suggest you to publish lengthy contents or try to describe your topic as maximum as possible.

5.2) Wrap title in H1 tag

Heading tags also play a good role on page level SEO but not all headings tags help you in ranking and according to me, you should wrap your title in H1, it’s better than writing h1 separately.
