Video profile picture is a GIF that generates using a video clip with up to 7 seconds. Now it can be directly generated from video apps like Vine and more. Profile videos appear at the place of profile picture and it’s looks awesome. Currently you can add or change profile video using iPhone and Android device. The feature is visible to everyone but desktop users can’t edit, only Android and iPhone users can view in real-time and edit it directly.

In the news feed, the video will not show as a GIF, it only shows as a static profile picture. The feature is rolling out from last year, and may be it not available in your location. To check availability, simply open your profile on the Facebook app, click the edit camera icon on profile picture and check there was something like “Take a New Profile Video”.

Using the phone

Profile videos can be easily change or add using the Facebook app for Android and iPhone. Here’s we steps:

  1. Open the Facebook app on Android or iPhone.
  2. Go to profile.
  3. Click the edit camera icon.
  4. Take or Upload a new profile video.
  5. Select frames, if your video is larger than 7 seconds (Don’t forget Audio on or off).
  6. Select a thumbnail to appear instead of a profile video.
  7. Save and done  .

Using other apps

Third-party video apps such as Vine, Boomerang and more will soon able to send videos directly to Facebook to use as a video profile picture. The other apps feature is coming soon, if you found this feature available, please do comment below and inform us.
